peiling has returned from 8-9 days of camp and is mentally and spiritually drained. unleash rocked, advance to go was okay. went for unleash camp echo prep today after zion's camp ended, and hoho we've completed everything that needs to be done. photos, videos, games, food etc. i love the camp comm, everything i want to say shall go into the thankyou part. the youths surprised us with the food they prepared and all their sweet notes. thankyou (:
let's start with part 1 of unleash, i dont think ive the energy to finish blogging everything. the people, the bonding, the activites, the worship, the messages, qt, the food, the morning run with the camp comm, sunrise watching and talks with brandon, midnight jamming sessions... despite having a fever/ headache/ cold off an on, everything about unleash was great [which says a lot]. for part 1 of unleash, i shall just start with the first message. uncle/ ps andrew gave a brief introduction on brokenness. took down a lot of notes, but here are some main stuff, thought i'll just share it with those who couldnt make it for camp/ didnt manage to take down stuff. it really tied in with the june camp- refresh. renew. regenerate. okay unleash's supposed to be the "second part" of it, a continuation. we wont planning to have a dec camp, but we prayed about it and decided to plan for it, but thank God for unleash.
2 chronicles 7:13-14 when i shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command locusts to devour the land or send a plague among my people, if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will i hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
God wants to reveal His prescence and glory to us- His people, fill our empty hearts... with His love and pour out His grace on our dry and thirsty lives. He wants to restore our "first love" for Jesus and rekindle the flame for God that used to burn brightly, and rebuild all the broken parts of our lives.
to unleash the strength and power that God has put within us, we need revival. and revival begins wtih brokenness and humility. there's no way round it. we need brokenness and humility, and without it, talks about worship, love, unity among God's people... are all empty.
brokenness is the way to wholeness.
ezekiel 36: 25-27 i will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean; i will cleanse you from all your impurities and from all your idols. i will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; i will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. and i will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws.
our heart has to be right in order for us to be right. ie if our heart isnt right, we arent right.
a question he asked that struck me: have you been going through the motions, playing church, pretending all is well when your heart is actually weak/ dying/ dead? psalm 139:23 search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts.
to be broken is the only way to revival. it is painful, it is humiliating but it's the only way. we want to lift ourselves up, but God wants us to humble ourselves and then lift us up, empowering us.
isaiah 57:15 For this is what the high and lofty One says— he who lives forever, whose name is holy: "i live in a high and holy place, but also with him who is contrite and lowly in spirit, to revive the spirit of the lowly and to revive the heart of the contrite.
james 4:8-10 come near to God and he will come near to you. wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. grieve, mourn and wail. change your laughter to mourning and your joy to gloom. humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.
psalm 51:16-17 You do not delight in sacrifice, or i would bring it; you do not take pleasure in burnt offerings. the sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise.
